ARTIFACT DONATION: If you have items and materials that relate to Lisle and its community that you would like to donate, please contact the Museum Curator at museum@lisleparkdistrict.org or 630-968-0499. The Museum’s Collections Committee must approve all new donations, so it may take up to three months to decide whether we will accept your artifacts. Please DO NOT drop off or mail-in your artifacts without first contacting the Museum Curator.

BECOME A VOLUNTEER

The Museums at Lisle Station Park strives to be a place for people to gather and enjoy our community heritage and buildings. We are seeking people who are interested in being an active part of our community. We host events and more throughout the year, and we need volunteers to help us make it happen! Opportunities for individuals, groups, and students include:

DOCENTS: Would you like to help tell the story of Lisle through historic buildings? Docents bring history alive by simply giving tours and telling good stories, or demonstrating activities from the past. Ages 16 & up.

CURATORIAL VOLUNTEERS: The Museums at Lisle Station Park is always looking for volunteers to help assist staff with cataloging, inventorying, and re-housing of two and three-dimensional materials in the Museum’s collection. Ages 18 & up.

EVENT VOLUNTEERS: The Museums at Lisle Station Park is always looking for volunteers to help further our mission by providing assistance with our annual events, including Depot Days (September) and Once Upon a Christmas (December).

The Lisle Heritage Society helped make the Museum possible. They built and continue to build upon the collections at the Museum. While the Lisle Heritage Society is a separate organization, The Museums at Lisle Station Park often partner with them to host annual events such as Depot Days and Once Upon a Christmas.

model railroad

The Lisle Model Railroad Club members, and other railroad enthusiasts built and operate a large HO gauge model railroad at Lisle Station Park. The layout is located in the basement of the historic Netzley-Yender House.

The Lisle Model Railroad Club welcomes anyone from the greater Chicago area that has experience with HO scale trains that is willing and able to participate in annual events and assist with ongoing construction to join the club.
